The problem...
When we first started making websites we took our time putting each one together. It helped us to crack the formula for what makes a good website, but were strugging to build them as fast as we wanted to. We had really good writers, and excellent coders, but unfortunately it's very rare to find someone who is good at both. We were being held back because we were always waiting for content to be uploaded, which was frustrating - and caused the developers lots of heartache.
... the solution
We built the Content Management System.
The CMS allows us to quickly and effectively build, edit and update the content across our entire network of sites. It has a really easy to use interface, so even the staff who can't tell HTML from heiroglyphics can make a website.
You can make an entirely new site from scratch with the CMS, or use it to edit existing pages and sites.

Once you have a new page, you can enter the content into the boxes provided, and format it using Wiki Code. You can also make sure the page is optimised for search engines by filling in the keywords and other meta fields.

Once you have a set of pages you can build a menu, and even edit it to change the order that the pages are listed in.

You can also edit and moderate comments, forums and add blogs using the CMS.

Blog and Content Syndication
So that you can keep your site's visitors up-to-date, our CMS system includes a blog tool. The blog is seamlessly integrated with FeedBurner to manage distribution of its RSS feeds. Using FeedBurner ensures that blog search engines such as Google and Technorati are kept up-to-date, and allows you to track readership figures and other measures of audience engagement. We worry about the technical details so you can just blog!

Performance Optimisation
To keep your visitors happy (and to keep them coming back) it's important to make sure that your site loads as fast as possible. We employ a number of strategies to achieve this, as recommended by the performance experts at Yahoo, including:
- Minimising HTTP requests
- Setting expires headers on static content
- Gzipping Images, CSS and Javascript files
We then use Yahoo's excellent Y-Slow program to analyse and assess the CMS performance.

The best news is, because all these performance optimisations are a native component of the CMS, any sites powered by it automatically reap the benefits. Since Google now factor page load times into their site quality scores its more important than ever to speed up your site. With Fubra CMS, we've done the hard work so you don't have to!
Sitemaps
Using the open sitemaps protocol we can be sure that search engines are aware when your page content changes. This means that they can spider your site more efficiently, cutting down on bandwidth, cpu and other resources. If a sitemap exists they only need to re-spider the pages that have changed since their last visit, but without this they would be forced to spider the entire site each time. Sitemaps are better for your site, better for the search engines and better for the environment, and Fubra CMS provides them right out of the box.
