Wow, Jennifer that is complete ********. This logo is neither clean nor professional. The horrible circular Ns don't match each other, the extra weight L doesn't relate to the rest and causes an imbalance and all I can say is learn to kern. The lack of craftsmanship clearly identifies this work as that of an amateur.
As far as branding is concerned, this logo butchers the Olympic logo in an effort to squeeze it into the space and supports that poor decision with a cheesy tag-line.
Probably the worst thing about it is that there is nothing that identifies it uniquely with London. The same treatment could be used in thousands of other names. Branding means identity design and good design means that your treatment cannot easily be applied to another project.

This is a clear example of good branding. This logo can be implememnted smoothly on all touchpoints. It is sophisticated, clean, and professional which 'was' the qualities international countries associate with london. The tagline also ties in seamlessly with the logo, while the logo maintains its originality from its origins in greece. This logo is brilliant.

They'll never allow you to break the five rings! Use your head! And if you are gonna submiit this, at least make the rings weave like the real logo. Unoriginal and lazy.

I love this. If 2012 were in a font that familied more, the kerning was tighter on the L and the N, and the tagline disappeared entirely, it would be perfect.

This is my second choice. Clever design but wording at the bottom hard to read as its too small in my opinion.

Very simple but has everything needed for a very good logo. The only thing I will add is that the sentence underneath could be a little bit bigger.

I really like this idea - the sentence underneath spoils it, and the letters & rings are too thin (making it harder to read when it's distant or smaller). Kerning is just wrong, and what's with the thick 'L'?

Best I have seen so far by a long way.

Hi Paul
Ive just emailed Harry with the alternative, is that the best way? can I replace this one with the new one?
All I have done is changed the L to make it less heavy and deleted the slogan.
Thanks for your help
James

Hi James, we've updated this to show your name as the designer now.

Why don't you upload your new version of this as another logo, so we can see if people prefer it?

the logo should have be a vote choosen by the british public and should be changed and an admisson made by the london olympic committe that the made a mistake and the public would think better of them as people who got it wrong the made it right.

lose the text it is pointless, L does not need to be thicker, but I do agree it should remain lowercase. I think it is simple, clean, and fun.

I like this one a lot. Stop this lowercase L business, London deserves a big 'L'. Typeface is much better than awful current one, it looks like a freebee font.

It is a big improvement on the offical logo, as it it has the five rings in colour, which links in the colours of the tube network. The letter "L" does seem a bit odd.
