Exceptional Web Designer Required

Fubra is looking for a smart and motivated web 'designer' to work in between our illustrators and web development team.

The right candidate will have strong views on what a usable web site is. They will shun gimmicks in favour of beautiful but simple website designs which make use of technology where it is appropriate and not just for the sake of it.

Fubra is a stable company that is now 7 years old but still has a start-up culture. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on your own ideas, learn from your peers and really contribute to the company's development. Our culture is one that listens to all our staff and develops good ideas into functioning projects and features that you can be proud of.

At Fubra all our staff have access to:

Fast computer hardware, Free books, Free On-Site Parking, Flexible working hours, Casual dress code, Smart colleagues, Mini cinema with 7.1 surround sound, Halo3 at lunchtimes on our Xbox 360 and giant high definition projector, Tennis & Basketball courts, Communal kitchen area - and most important of all... Big challenges!

We care about what we do and it shows. As a result we are regularly featured on the national news media from TV, to newspapers, to radio. This means the projects you are working on will not only be seen on the web but will more than likely be exposed to huge audiences on a regular basis. If that's not enough we will email them to over two million people and let you improve them based on the feedback.

We want someone who:

  • Is creative and motivated to work in a fast paced team.
  • Sees design as a science which can be improved through experimentation.
  • Puts the user at the centre of their world.
  • Would not be able to sleep if one of their websites was 20% slower than it could be.
  • Has demonstrable experience with xHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Photoshop.
  • Boasts an inquisitive mind with razer sharp problem solving ability.
  • Is a cross-browser + cross-platform guru.
  • Has some amazing web sites they made earlier to show us.
  • Wants to continuously improve themself and learn from their peers.

Although not essential, a knowledge of PHP and MySQL would also be an advantage.

How to apply:

If this sounds like you, please email and include a copy of your C.V. along with a covering email which has links to web sites you have built. You don't need a degree but you do need to be very good at what you do.
