The Fubra Blog
Designing the new Fubra logo
On July 15th 2009 we launched a complete redesign of Fubra. I will be blogging about this soon, but thought I would do a quick post about the evolution of our Fubra logo. I needed to update our logo without changing it too much so that it wasn’t un recognisable. I am lucky here at Fubra as I am given a free reign to let my creativity flow with such things as designs and logos.
I felt the logo, which had become outdated, needed a good makeover to make it fresher and younger. I have attached a few quick sketches I produced while coming up with the new Fubra logo design. The sketch attached is the one I made my main breakthrough on. I branched off with many ideas, totally recreating the logo in many different shapes and colours. I eventually found our default colours to be most recognisable with Fubra.

Fubra – focused on you
Whilst sitting in our chillout/meeting room at lunch yesterday eating lunch I had an epiphany!
I had finished designing the new Fubra.com site and like most times after finishing a website I couldn’t get the design out of my head. Thinking what if I moved this here or changed that image there.
What did keep coming back to me was the slogan ‘focused on you’ I had created to define our brand. With this I wanted to summarise what we do here at Fubra.
I have always personally felt this has always been our aim here at Fubra with all of our websites designed and built to help you our users find what they are looking for quickly and easily. Having pushed this brand on the new Fubra site. I thought it would be great if all of the guys here at Fubra can be really proud of what we do here and also be proud of why we do it.
So I thought what would be better than (literally) painting our identity ‘slogan’ all over our walls!
Me and Nick got started on the painting at 6pm and we had finished at 1am this morning. With a couple of breaks in between for Chinese food and to watch the end battle scene in Zulu :s If that doesn’t get you geared up for painting I don’t know what will!
Knowing you would probably not like to watch 6 hours of us painting we have cut it down to a mere 45 seconds for you to enjoy.

The London 2012 logo saga
The new London 2012 logo has attracted a lot of criticism in the press since its launch yesterday, so we have built a micro-site to gauge opinion and see if the British public can do any better.

At the time of writing we have had 4603 votes, 92.8% of whom agreed that we need a different logo for the London Olympics. The question is, will the games committee listen?
Here is what all the fuss is about for those of you who haven’t seen it:
