Happy Halloween from Fubra

Posted Friday 30th October 2009 by Harry

Firstly I would just like to wish everybody a Happy Halloween and I hope you all have a devilishly good weekend!

It has been a busy week here at Fubra with investments, birthdays and lots of late nights making some cool Halloween posts for SixCrayons. Just like to say a big welcome to new Fubra investment Marble Construction who we have already been working with this week.

A few weeks ago myself and fellow designer Nick decided to create a couple of Halloween posts for SixCrayons. After a few late nights of pizza and lots of Cherry Coke we finally got them done. I created a rather fun Zombie Transformation Tutorial taking a few of the Fubra staff and turning them into Zombies.

Nick - being a huge movie geek - made a GhostBusters Isometric tutorial including all the GhostBusters, Ecto One and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Check out the full tutorial and be sure to ask him in the comments if there is anything you would like to know how to do. He has also included the Ai file of Ecto One for you to download and play with.

legocakeOne person who has been extra busy also outside of work is Annie, who has been making personalised cakes for the staff birthdays.

Annie bases her cakes around each member of staff’s personal interest, this week it was Steve’s birthday. He has a fascination with anything LEGO, hence this rather impressive LEGO minifig cake based on Steve himself!

Not only has Annie been making birthday cakes, we also had a selection of Halloween treats this morning ready for when we all arrived work! Great stuff – Thanks Annie!

Happy Halloween!

Clear Books gets a new front cover

Posted Wednesday 14th October 2009 by Steve

A few weeks ago work started on updating and restructuring the design of Clear Books, an online accounting software product to free your time.

The beta version was launched back in December last year (2008) and since then the software has shed it’s beta label (July ’09) and evolved rapidly, boasting a number of great features and reasons to use Clear Books.

Fubra investment grows traffic to 100,000 users per day

Posted Tuesday 13th October 2009 by Pete

Renegade Games Limited, the investment Fubra made in Febuary 2009 has just acquired four more websites, all in the gaming industry. All four websites are “top lists”, websites that rank games according to votes that their players send in, thereby creating a ranking page of which games are popular.

The websites were bought after tough negotiations with the old owner, however a deal both were happy with was reached eventually.

The four new websites are:

Top 100 Arena

Gaming Sites 100

Game Sites 101

MMORPG 101

These websites will complement the games already owned by Renegade Games, including the game that is newly being developed from scratch, codenamed SimRepublic.

The websites give a great platform for games to advertise, as the websites now owned by Renegade Games top 100,000 users per day. This is good progress after about 8 months of building websites.

Winter Driving – Do you have breakdown cover?

Posted Thursday 1st October 2009 by Annie

With winter fast approaching it is becoming increasingly important to take care of your car, you can do this with simple tasks such as topping up your water, screen wash and oil levels regularly. If you think about it, your car really is very similar to your body. In order to stay healthy in winter, you need to fuel your body well and drink plenty of water, as does your car.

Having said this, the healthiest of us can become unwell in the winter. Just as the best looked after cars can breakdown at anytime. Read the rest of this entry »
