Our first iPhone App – PetrolPrices Pro

This blog post was written on Wednesday 9th September 2009 by paul who has been working for Fubra as a Director and Co-Founder for 11 years. Our staff are encouraged to blog on this site, but the views expressed are individual and do not necessarily represent those of Fubra.

We’re all very excited today, as we’ve just launched our first iPhone app on App Store. The App is called PetrolPrices Pro, and as the name suggests it lets you find the cheapest petrol on your iPhone. It also lets you find prices for diesel, super unleaded and LPG. The launch price is £4.99 and that includes 1 year of updates.

This is such a great idea. I will be sure to use it while I am on the move. Awesome!!

  2. DL says:

How about one for the Android platform now? Don’t want to be limiting ourselves to single company – Apple, that would be like petrolprices only allowing prices for Shell ;-)

  3. Ian Mccully says:

    I am seconding Dj comments

how about an android app for the google phones t

    thanks

  4. Hassan Yate says:

Yes please, I’d like to see this on my Android too, perhaps as a layer on maps!

  5. Dan says:

Yeah, just seen this on a friends i-phone, I’d download it too if it was on the Android platform

  6. Gary says:

I was dissappointed to find out that this is only available on iPhone. I am a regular subscriber to the PP update emails and would love this to be available on the Android platform.

  7. Derek Mitcheson says:

The android market is massive and with devices like the HTC desire which is better than the iphone surely an android application would be a winner and generate higher revenues for you. It is surely in your interests to make your app available on the android market before someone beats you to it and everyone gets used to an alternative such as the ‘what gas’ app?

  8. LEE says:

android app android app android app,
    please come on,

  9. Matt says:

Unfortunately there are no plans to develop an equivalent Android app at this time, however the option is always there for the future if there’s enough support!

  10. Amar says:

I think all the comments above suggest the is plenty of demand for this app on Android… I’d love this, too!

  11. Paul says:

    Andriod please !!

  12. Roger says:

Just google “android outstrip iphone”. There are plenty of predictions that Android phone sales will soon be outstripping iPhone sales. I think it is time for you to produce an Android app. I’d buy it.

  13. Colin says:

Android app please – the website is too cumbersome to use on a phone.

  14. kyla says:

Come on guys- read the comments! Everyone wants an android version. What’s taking so long? Don’t you want the support?

  15. Mark says:

Android App required, especially as there are more Android users than iphones, you’re selling yourselves short.

  16. The Android version is on it’s way! We hope to have it launched in the next month or so.

  17. mike says:

What’s the latest release forecast – now its “next month”?

  18. Terry L says:

So, have you given up any thought of producing an app for the Android phones? You risk people drifting off to other petrol price sites. Would be a pity, speaking as someone who has been with you since your early days

  19. paul says:

We finally released an Android app a few months ago. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.petrolprices.app
