Board of Directors

Britt Hughes is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

She has extensive pan-European HR experience and has held senior HR Director positions in multinational corporations such as Google, Lucent, Kelkoo and Sybase.

During the last six years she has been contracted to undertake several projects as an independent HR Consultant in the UK, Sweden and Spain.

In June 2003 she was recruited by Google as their first HR professional outside California. During her four years there as Head of Human Resources Europe, the number of employees increased from 160 to approximately 3,000 and she played a major role in achieving this growth across 30 countries.

Britt originates from the west coast of Norway where she fell in love with sailing, a sport in which she remains actively involved and holds the RYA Yacht Master qualification. Britt lives in Windsor, Berkshire.

Paul helped co-found Fubra straight after his A-levels in 2000 at the age of 18. He spent the first three years as a company Director earning just £50 a week and in that time learnt how to do a lot with very little.

A geek at heart, Paul learned to code on his BBC micro when he was 8 years old, and retains a deep curiosity in emerging technology trends. He is interested in continuous delivery and agile project management and loves using his technical skills to help solve business problems. In 2013, he helped teach his local scout group to code using Raspberry Pis and an Arduino Mars Rover.

Paul is an executive Director on the Fubra board, and a shareholder. When he’s not working, he likes to wakeboard in the summer and snowboard in the winter.

Brendan is one of the founders of Fubra. He lives in Aldershot with his fiancee Magdalena and Sophia, their 2-year-old daughter.

Interested in strategic and vision work, Brendan enjoys learning about trends in leadership and organisational learning. As a generalist, he has a wide range of interests, especially equity investment and the intersection of business, government, wider society and the planet.

He is often bold and unorthodox in his approach to business and likes to challenge convention and create new ways of working. He also enjoys skiing and walking.

Joseph McLoughlin was educated at the University of London where he studied Philosophy. Joe started his career as a Geography teacher at Salesian College in Farnborough where he stayed until retirement.

Subsequently he worked for Fubra doing everything from preparing our accounts to keeping us fed. In 2013 he took a second retirement from that role. Joe is now a Non-Executive Director on the board of the company, which he helped start by loaning them £10,000 and his attic back in 2000!

When he is not keeping us on the straight and narrow, he enjoys skiing and he is currently building a barn in Affieux, France.

Paul McCormick was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University where he obtained 1st class Honours in PPE. He obtained an M. Phil and Doctorate from Oxford University.

He has been the External Assessor of the University of Portsmouth M.A. in Business Law. He has held a number of academic appointments in England and been the Special Adviser to the British Immigration Minister and a Special Adviser to the House of Commons.

Dr. McCormick was appointed Visiting Professor to the prestigious School of Labour Economics, Capital University, Beijing, P.R. China in September 2005.

Paul is a practising barrister specialising in civil law.
